Church Of The Dead: Vol. 2 - Terror tales
16/11/13 || Cobal
Finland ain’t no exactly the country from which I would expect an old school death metal release. Not these days, at least. And yet, when I read “Vol. 2”, I naturally assumed it was a compilation what I was dealing with and decided to give it a shot just in case. Fuck, was I wrong. Compilation my ass!
This is in fact the second EP by young death metallers Church of the Dead, and while they mention Cannibal Corpse, Obituary, Necrophagia, Napalm Death and Autopsy as their main influences, I really felt an early Deicide vibe with a hint of punk rock and black metal. Indeed, ‘twas precisely that kind of energy which made me enjoy “Terror Tales” in the first place.
A grower.

After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
